Richard Nelson Current (born October 5, 1912, in Colorado City, Colorado) is an American historian.

He graduated from Oberlin College, from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with an M.A., and from the University of Wisconsin with a Ph.D. in history in 1940. He taught at Rutgers University, Hamilton College, Northern Michigan University, Lawrence University, University of Illinois, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the University of Wisconsin. He retired and is living in Massachusetts.[1][2]
